Project Overview

Portland General Electric’s Tonquin Project is upgrading 11 miles of high-voltage transmission lines along various routes in Lake Oswego, Wilsonville, Tualatin, Wilsonville, and Sherwood.

The current plans for the project will impact 104 parcels.

Plans for the project include:

  • Upgrading 11 miles of 115kV transmission lines
  • Creating two lines that run primarily along SW 124th Ave. and SW Stafford Rd., including new, 100-foot or higher power poles.
  • Construction of two new power substations – one on SW 124th Ave. near SW Blake St. and the other near Interstate‒5 and Boeckman Rd.

The current timeline for the project includes the following pertinent dates:

  1. Work on the project is set to start in 2023.
  2. Work on the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
