Project Overview
The Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) US 97 Project in Madras includes improvements on Highway 97 and Highway 26 between Earl Street and Colfax Lane.
The current project plans will impact 133 separate properties.
Plans for the project include:
- Repaving the road, constructing new ADA curb ramps, enhanced sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
- Temporary and permanent closures of driveways on US 97. Those properties with Highway 97 on both sides will be particularly impacted by the project.
The current timeline for the project includes the following pertinent dates:
- Fall 2021 to Summer 2025 – Project design
- November 2025 – Project bid awarded
- Winter 2025 to Fall 2027 – Construction
